Last Updated: June 15, 2026
🔒 OmniPlayer is designed to be privacy-first. Your videos stay on your device. We do not collect personal data.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how OmniPlayer ("the App," "we," "our") handles your information when you use our application. We take your privacy seriously and have designed the App to operate with minimal data collection.

OmniPlayer is a local-first video player. The vast majority of its functionality works entirely on your device, without sending data to any external server. We do not have accounts, user profiles, or cloud sync features. We do not serve ads, and we do not track your behavior.

5. Third-Party Services

OmniPlayer integrates with the following third-party services. These services operate under their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

📄 Important Note on Subtitle Search

Your video content is never uploaded. When searching for subtitles, the App may send a hash value (a one-way mathematical digest) of the video file, or the filename of the video, to these third-party services. This is done solely to find matching subtitles and cannot be used to reconstruct your video content. The actual video data remains entirely on your device.

5.1 Open Source Libraries

The App incorporates the following open source components, each governed by its own license. These libraries operate entirely locally and do not transmit data externally:

6. Privacy Space

The Privacy Space feature allows you to mark certain videos as private. Here is how it works:

7. Data Storage and Security

All data handled by OmniPlayer is stored locally on your device within the app's sandboxed container:

We follow iOS security best practices:

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over its retention and deletion:

To delete all data: Uninstall OmniPlayer from your device. This removes the app container, including its database, settings, and downloaded files. Videos imported from the Photo Library remain unaffected.

9. Children's Privacy

OmniPlayer is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to delete such information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App (e.g., a notice within the interface) before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

To exercise any of these rights, please use the built-in App controls or iOS system settings. If you need assistance, contact us.
